MEDICAL REVIEW
Medical review at Menopause Philippines
Editorially reviewed on October 29, 2026Medical review: pending
Quick answer
We do not yet have a medical reviewer. We are recruiting a Filipino OB-GYN, ideally a member of the Philippine Society of Climacteric Medicine (PSCM). Until they are confirmed, our pages say "Editorially reviewed" with a date, and we will not show any doctor's name, photo or licence that is not real.
The honest status
Reviewer: pending [TODO: medical reviewer].
Right now, every page is researched and checked by our editorial team against published guidelines and the sources listed on that page. That is "editorial review". It is not the same as a doctor reading the page and signing off, and we will not pretend it is.
You will see "Editorially reviewed on [date]" on pages until medical review starts. When a reviewer joins, reviewed pages will show their name, specialty and PRC licence number, and the date they reviewed it.
Who we are looking for
- A practising Filipino OB-GYN with a valid PRC licence.
- Ideally a PSCM member, since PSCM is the Philippine specialty society for menopause care.
- Comfortable with current international guidance (The Menopause Society 2022 and 2023 statements, NICE NG23) and with how menopause care actually works in Philippine clinics.
- No financial ties to compounded hormone clinics or to companies whose products we write about, or ties that are fully declared.
Later we hope to add a registered nutritionist-dietitian for food pages and a psychologist for sleep and mood content.
What medical review will cover
When review starts, the reviewer will check:
- That the medical facts match current guidelines.
- That risks are described fairly, with numbers where possible.
- That red-flag advice (bleeding after menopause, a breast lump, chest pain, leg swelling, sudden severe headache, thoughts of self-harm) is clear and sends readers to care.
- That nothing reads as personal dosing or prescribing.
The reviewer will not write marketing copy, endorse products, or appear in advertising for prescription medicines.
What we will never do
We will never invent a reviewer, use a stock photo or AI-generated face as a "doctor", or borrow a doctor's name without their written agreement. If you see a reviewer box on our site, that person is real and agreed to it.
Are you a menopause doctor?
If you are a Filipino OB-GYN (or endocrinologist) interested in reviewing pages for a fee, we would like to hear from you. You can also help by checking our find a doctor guide for clinics we have missed.
Frequently asked questions
Has a doctor reviewed this site?
Not yet. Pages are editorially reviewed against published guidelines. A Filipino OB-GYN reviewer is being recruited and will be named only once confirmed.
Can I trust the pages without a medical reviewer?
Every page cites its sources so you can check them, and anything not yet re-checked is flagged. Still, use the site to prepare for a consult, not to replace one.
Why a PSCM member?
The Philippine Society of Climacteric Medicine is the local specialty society for menopause care, so a member is most likely to know current practice here.
Will reviewers be paid?
Yes, a per-article fee for their time. Payment never depends on what they conclude.
